WYTAG:

What You Think About God

(is the most important thing about you)

WYTAG: Theological Consultation

  • Why "WYTAG"?

WYTAG is an acronym for “What you think about God.” We believe that what you think about God is the most important thing about you. Theology helps us understand the rationality behind our beliefs and worldview. What we think about God, whether consciously or subconsciously, trickles down into every part of our lives.

  • What is it?

Theological consultation is a type of spiritual processing. It’s not counseling or therapy, and it’s not preaching or teaching. Rather, it’s when you get to talk through issues, theoretical or personal, with a theologian who can help you understand how beliefs, practices, and values are connected across the Christian faith. Casey works with people from all denominations.

  • for Churches

Theology isn’t just for individuals or denominations. Local churches and parishes create cultures of theology, and not just by what’s preached, but also by the music and all areas of church life. It’s how we determine what type of disciples of Jesus are being made, and it’s best to do it on purpose. When the leadership of a church knows why it believes what it does, the community is better served.

Casey can meet with your leadership or with groups in your church in small group, Sunday school, retreat, or open lecture form.

  • for Individuals

Have you ever wondered why bad things happen to good people in the Bible or in life? Do you struggle with what Christians believe about creation, salvation, or the afterlife? Do you want to know more about communion, baptism or prayer?
These are just a few examples of popular questions that people wrestle with, and we can talk about the different responses that varying traditions in Christianity offer. This isn’t about finding out all the answers, but rather, learning to think thoroughly and knowledgeably about our Faith.

  • Theology is what you think about and God and everything connected to God. And, as it turns out, *everything* is connected to God. What you think about God is the most important thing about you.

  • Theology isn't just for academics; it's for all people. And theology isn't something *extra* we add to our faith... it's already inherent to it. It's the what, why, and how of our spirituality.

Theology isn't just about making you a *smarter* Christian. Theology is an act of worship. It helps us know God and our neighbor better. It helps us not just to understand but to love.

I grew up with great Bible teaching and preaching, but delving into theology helped me understand the rationality, history, and diversity of the beliefs, values, and practices of our Faith.
